Starting 4:30 Jimmy Day has a break with Big Mamo, then at 8:43 is Liberty Drive. Pretty good early Jimmy Day stuff!

I wonder if his uniform was not available for some reason. He was very young there and may have just joined Ray Price. His playing was very good and complimenting the singers he played behind. I did see a couple of grins.
Jimmy played on most all of the Ray Price recording sessions from 1956-1962.

Jimmy wasn't the only one in short sleeves. Willie Nelson was on stage left in short sleeves playing bass.

There's some great hand shots of Jimmy in this video, playing "Blue Darlin'" number one, D-8 in D9th tuning. Like watching two hands perform a ballet, IMHO.

I've been playing "Liberty Drive" at steel shows for 32 years, and I've never heard anyone else play it. I don't know why... it's a great tune, fun to jam on.
