converting lps and tapes tp mp3 for loading on mobile

What do you use to convert LPs and Tapes to your laptop for further converting to your mobile phone?

I have a 2023 Volvo and it does not have a cd player.
I converted several songs using windows media player but would like to load some tracks off old LPs and Tapes.

At one time there was a product called "XITEL" but I don't believe it's available anymore.

I haven't used one but something like this should work fine if you turntable or stereo has RCA outputs on it.

There's plenty of option. Amazon. I don't have a CD player in any of my cars or trucks. I thought it would be hard to get used to. I don't miss it at all. I Bluetooth my phone and listen to Pandora or a news channel.

I just use the cables shown below and go from the phono or tape player into a digital interface. I record it in my DAW software and save as an MP3 file. I will record a whole album side or a cassette side and then separate the tracks and save as individual songs.

Right now, I have about 3,000 PSG instrumental MP3 tracks from albums, CDs and Tape. Too bad over half of them are "Steel Guitar Rag!"

I read the original post several times and still don't understand what you are trying to do.

That said............

Can you "rip" a CD to your laptop? (A lot of newer laptops also don't have a CD/DVD drive.)
If so.......

Can you load those files from your laptop to a thumb drive?
If so..........

I don't know about your Volvo, but my 2021 Highlander has a USB post next to the charging ports.
I can put a thumb drive in there and the car will recognize it.
It shows all of the songs and folders and sub folders and etc etc etc.

Maybe this will solve the issue.

If not....

You can buy external CD drives/players that will plug into the USB port.
I looked a couple of years ago and they were around $250-$300.
I never did pull the trigger on one.

Thanks for the replies.

to clarify, my new computer does not have a built in cd drive but I have a stand alone that I use to transfer cds to my computer.
Then I transfer these songs from my computer to my Samsung mobile phone.
Then I can play thru my entertainment system using bluetooth. I never even thought about spotify. great.

I don't know what DAW software is?

DAW is a Digital Audio Workstation.

You don't need a DAW to do what you are doing. Here a cheap way to do the transfers. Since your doing MP3 you don't need anything fancy. This will work and a video that shows how to do it....it cost 16.90 on Amazon.
