Anyone play Curtain Call?

I mostly figured out the head of this song, but the B part especially the last 2 bars a quite tricky. It modulates to the III and the V of the I chord. From what I can find it was written by Bobby Koefer, but I can't find a recording of him playing it. I am guessing he might play it in E13? I was able to find 3 versions for inspiration. Pretty sure this is in G, but it is sometimes difficult to tell if the recordings are a little fast or slow. I worked it out in Ab because I didn't realize my guitar had gone flat about a semitone cause the winter dryness has really set in. Someday I will post a video of me, but just not there yet

Tom Morrell is playing non pedal and Bobby Koefer is a non pedal player, but this may be more popular on the pedal side not sure. Vance Terry and Zane Beck aren't really typical pedal players considering its E13 instead of E9. I really want to hear the original version. This sounds like one of those songs where they introduce the musicians and they take a little solo.

Thanks for the info, I was unaware of that. I was actually curious if there were any recordings of Morell on pedals. I think it is pretty cool that he evolved away from them! I would really love to hear a version of Curtain Call in non pedal E13 which is apparently how it was written, but I have been unable to find a link. It looks like it is on this album with Bobby Koefer playing with Billy Gray.

I used to play it. It is in E13th tuning. One of the coolest non pedal tunes out there. Especially when twined with a guitar or electric mandolin.

The Billy Gray Dance O Rama LP is the only Bobby Koefer source for the tune that I know of Plus the Tom Morrell track as stated above. Russ and Bruce are correct Tom is playing pedals on this recording. Herb Steiner recorded it with pedals as well.

All of the Dance O Rama LP's are worth collecting. The music on them is top notch . Wayne Burdick is on the Tex Williams Lp, and Vance playing his pedal Bigsby is on the Bob Wills LP, and Joaquin on the Spade Cooley LP.

raised the pitch 1% two times to reach A=440.

The bridge outlines the diminished chords in bars 18 & 22.

Russ is right: the album notes that Tom Morrell played a Sho-Bud double 10.

I ended it with my simple coda; it actually ends with a beautiful chorded verse.

Thanks! I surely would love to hear that. I really want to hear the original to see how the other versions match up. I always try to listen to the earliest version I can find when I learn a new song. Very cool! Maybe this will inspire a few others to play this. I made an IReal backing track which matches up basically the same only I added a G#7#5 in the 4th bar of the B part, and I made the E7 at the end of the B part an E7#5. I am not sure the proper way to do this, but these 2 altered chords match up to how I am playing it and seem important to the melody. I mostly got the melody from the Terry/Rivers version.
