Which MacBook?

Post by Cody Coombs »

I’m looking to upgrade my laptop and want to start using Logic Pro for recording. I’m having a heck of a time figuring out which MacBook to get that will meet the requirements for Logic. MacBook Air seems to be an affordable price, but from what I’ve been seeing the MacBook Pro seems to be the go to laptop. Does anyone have any thoughts and recommendations? Would the MacBook Air be enough for home recording? I suppose I’m mostly going to be doing overdubbing and home recording.

Thanks in advance,
Cody

I have the cheapest Mac mini M2 with 8g of memory they made and I it runs Logic just fine. I would guess the laptop would as well. I bought an external flash 1tb hard drive as I don’t have much room but it does anything I throw at it just fine

Here's What Apple Says

Post by Jim Fogle »

The Apple website says as long as the MacBook uses macOS Ventura 13.5 or later and has 6GB of available storage space for minimum installation or 72GB of storage space for full Sound Library installation you should be good to go.

Doug Taylor's idea of using external storage media is a great idea that might save you some money over time.
