Old b& w photo of Frank?

Post by Dave Zirbel »

Image Does anyone recognize this guy. Frank Stair___(?)
And that guitar he’s playing looks nice!

Someone posted the photo on a Facebook thread by a guitarist named Danny Weis, who is a founding member of the acid rock band from the 60’s, The Iron Butterfly. Danny’s father played with Joaquin Murphy in Spade Cooley’s band. I think someone posted this photo thinking it was Joaquin.

Maybe his name really is just Frank Stair. At first glance I thought it was cropped out of the photo.

Just curious who it really is.

Thanks

Probably not. Sounds more like someone with the last name of Lanier at :40 when the band is introduced. Good effort though, and pretty cool that Dave found the obit with info from the original picture. Wonder if we'll be googled when we're gone? Might be a song there.

Good catch, Bill.

And maybe you are right about the song. Instead of "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down," How about, "Look Me Up When I'm Done Gone?"
blah, blah, blah.

"Look Me Up When I'm Way Down"?
Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun.
