Melodyne Essential Beginner Video
Melodyne Essential is the entry level version of Melodyne. Even though it is entry level Essential can perform timing and pitch correction on monophonic waveforms. It can be a powerful tool in your audio production toolbox once you understand how to use it.
Here is a link to a 13 minute video tutorial that vividly explains how to use Melodyne Essential tools for timing and pitch correction.
I should also note that some software purchases and DAWs include a license for Melodyne Essential so you may already have a license in hand.

Thanks Jim thats a good video. Melodyne is a good program.
It's funny, there's several pitch correction software programs out there, but people call them all "Autotune"
People critize the new singers like Taylor Swift for heavy use of "Autotune". I read that Taylor is now listed on the world billionaire list. I guess she would never have made it with just a little reverb and compression. LOL not my kind of music, but I admire that kind of success by anyone in the entertainment industry.

Re: Melodyne Essential Beginner Video
I removed a redundant quote so, never mind, nothing to see here.

I have used Melodyne Editor for about 18 months and am really impressed with what it can do... especially with polyphonic instruments and chordal sounds. As we all know, the PSG is a pretty unforgiving instrument and bar pressure and position does not have to be off much to produce an unfriendly sound sometimes. Melodyne lets you really get into the structure of the sound and nudge things around.
A missed block or a pick clam on an otherwise good take, can be cleaned up easily. It certainly is a great tool for clean up.
Although I have not used it in this way, I have seen (heard) some use it to introduce effects and coloration to the sound that one can't get any other way. Interesting... but a rabbit hole I just don't have time for.
At any rate... it is a great program, IMHO.

Fear of rabbits is leporiphobia, should you hear it mentioned. I find it quite debilitating. You can do a lot of massage in Reaper, then you suddenly realise it's getting light and the birds are singing...

Got it. Leporiphobia is fear of rabbits. I am guessing here; Leporiforamenphobia must be fear of rabbit holes... right? I dunno. Ever since Grace Slick 'splained it to me, I have been getting along with "White Rabbits" pretty well, myself.
But I get your point. Why not just "punch it in" and be done with it!?!
