We lost another great one. I was always amazed at his ability to use the Scruggs tuners on his electric banjo to emulate steel guitar sounds. I used to watch the Porter Wagoner show in the 70's. I was always confused as to why Buck played the steel guitar sounding licks, and not Don Warden.

Sorry to hear this. I only met Buck one time, but he was a happy guy, always smiling, with a really unique sound. Here is a song recorded when he just had Scruggs-pegs (before he had the palm pedals put on his banjo). Enjoy Buck and early Pete Drake on this cut.
