As I continue to sell off a lot of my equipment, I’m placing another one of my guitars up for sale. It’s hard to let go of this guitar but due to poor health, it’s time to keep reducing what I own. This guitar is one of my last remaining D 10’s.

The guitar is a 2012 Zum HYBRID with 8 pedals and 7 knee levers. As the pictures will document, it’s like new and has the hybrid changer on both necks. As known by most, these are very hard to find and very rarely ever come up for sale. The guitar plays like a dream with easy pedal and knee lever action. I had BL 705 pickups installed in the guitar by electronics guru, Mike Scaggs and then the guitar was fine-tuned by Mike and a well-known Zum owner / mechanic. It is currently raised to 1 inch over, but I can change it back to standard height if requested.

As a note on case condition. The wheeled case is in very good condition. The negatives are that there is some pitting on some of the metal corners and the rubber on the handle is breaking loose where it slides under the metal end pieces. The handle is fully functional and safe to use.

As viewed in the pictures, the guitar is in beautiful overall condition. Serious buyers, please feel free to contact me for more information and pictures.

(only ships to continental 48 states)

Thanks

Yes yes, I certainly remember this jewel well. I think the buyer will find it's even better than described, and it's a DOUBLE HYBRID (Even Better) I also have a Zum Hybrid D-10 8/8 and it is certainly my guitar of choice hands down. Closest guitar I have ever owned to the haunting Emmons Push Pull sound but without the mechanical things to deal with. Good luck Ray and Congrats to whoever the new buyer will be :).
Great guitar and rare to find for sale...

Cheers!

Mike

I think that would be a 2012 model according to Bruce’s list.

Zum Hybrid

Post by Ray DeVoe »

A big "thanks" to all that have replied and recognized the quality and condition of this guitar. The year of the guitar has been updated as Gary informed me of the correct year. My serial number chart was an older one that ended with the 2007 production year.

Thanks

Oh no!!!

Now there are two guitars calling my name: this beautiful Zum and Scott Murrays wonderful JCH/CP D10.

And here I am, up to my neck in D13th.

SWMBO would kill me if I even uttered a word about either of these gems. :(

(8+9: 'Day' pedals) Williams SD-12 (D13th: 8+6), Quilter TT-12, B-bender Teles and several old Martins.

Zum has sold

FYI:

Thanks to all for the great compliments on the guitar. It is a fine instrument.

I have received several PM's with offers. The guitar is currently placed on hold as a player in Maryland has made an acceptable commitment as to purchasing it.
