Tyler Hall / Josh Turner

Post by Ron Funk »

Just a shout out to everyone that loves pedal steel and traditional country music,.....
'should you have the opportunity in your area to catch a Josh Turner concert - be sure to do so - 'cause Forum member Tyler Hall is a primary ingredient of Josh’s great show.

Tyler Hall’s great instrumental work on his Emmons pedal steel, ( walk around ) lap steel, and dobro during their 'down-front' bluegrass medley ALL cut through the mix with great clarity & Tone.....Everything sounded fantastic at Josh Turner’s concert last Friday night in my hometown of Decatur, Illinois.

The stage was uncluttered with not a single amp in view...allowing Tyler and the other fellow musicians to freely move around and interact with each other.

And FYI, this is the 20 year anniversary of Josh Turner's first big hit, "Long Black Train."

Many Thanks to Josh Turner and Tyler Hall and the other very talented musicians in "The Tonky Honkers" for keeping traditional country music alive and well - and a treasure to see and hear in an outdoor live venue setting

If you can't make it out to a Josh Turner show, here is a Joshua Hedley stream from Dee's Lounge in Nashville from a couple of years ago that features some fantastic playing by Tyler Hall:
