The Pink Panther Theme

Post by Dale Rottacker »

The Pink Panther movies for me were some of the funniest movies made. And who doesn’t recognize the Henry Mancini theme song just from that first Asus(b2) to the ending Em(maj 9) Bond chord.
This was a really fun and frustrating song for me to attempt, especially the little solo jazz section. I keep attempting some modest jazz lines in hopes that one day I’ll hear them in my head better and see them on the fret board better as well.

Very well done with single note precision.
Last chord evoked extra pleasure!

Thanks so much Jim ... definitely different for me. Always thought this song was quite captivating.

Thank you Chris ... this was a lot of fun for me and a REAL challenge ... Can't tell you how many times I went over the those very first notes, those were WAY harder for me than the chords were.

I don't know if that last chord was a clever tribute to the first Bond released a year earlier or just a "great minds think alike" kinda thing, but however it got there it sure fit the song.

I love it, I always wanted to learn that tune. Maybe that's the push I need to learn it. Your version is great and with a killer rhythm track, Keep up the good work, CATT

Hi Dale Awesome very clean sound and such a classic song. I Have all of the pink panther DVDs. I often quote Clouseau when My wife would say that's my best towel you've messed up. I reply Not anymore in a Clouseau voice. Then run! Dave :)

Thank you my friend, I appreciate your encouragement.

The track I used came from https://www.karaoke-version.com I downloaded each track/instrument separately and then pan'd and remixed them in my DAW. They have a BaZillion great tracks.

LOL, thank Joe ... really, the hardest part of this song were those opening single note. I'm not comfortable with that much bar movement.

Thank you David ... really a fun (challenging for me) song to do. You know I've got Clouseau in the queue, his "Not anymore" was priceless.

Thank you my friend ... hope you're well and all settled in now.

Thank you Sir ... I'm not well versed in everything Mr Mancini wrote, but there's no mistaking this one is there?
