New Song using Sierra 12 String D13 Tuning

Post by Greg Cutshaw »

This is my first attempt at playing a complete song on my Sierra 12 with D13 tuning. The song has two steel verses plus a verse with twin steel and guitar.

Drums are EZDrummer with a few added edits, the out of control piano is EZKeys, Bass is direct to console, all steel parts use the ToneX pedal direct to console with the Twin Reverb model and plate reverb with a 4.5 second delay, the guitar is a Les Paul Standard played through an Allen Encore tube amp (6V6's) with the raw control set to a bit of distortion and mic'ed with a Shure SM57.

Thanks.
I have a Steeltronics humbucker in my Kline U12; I'm not a big fan of single coils.

Greg, the steel tone is awesome and that's a nice little blues and jazz tune. Good sample of the steels range.

Liking this guitar more every day for its smooth action.

I'll be posting another song today in a new post.

Recording and playing a few new songs forces me to use all the new pedals and muscle memories in real time much like playing with a live band.

Thanks for all the nice comments. There are so many great steels out there and I appreciate and read about all those too. This is kind of my semi-retirement gift to myself!
