2007 was a very good year at Gibson's Custom Shop, with a supply of ethically sourced Honduran mahogany for backs and necks, Madagascar rosewood for fretboards, and Eastern maple for the tops. The finish on this guitar is a very thin, hard lacquer with the "dirty lemon burst" a la 1958. The neck is round but not fat, again replicating the best of the '58 LP's.
It has been upgraded with Mojotone PAF pickups and pots, and Jensen paper-in-oil caps. All else is original, and without a strap it weighs in at exactly 9 lbs.
Factory Custom case plus all the original paperwork and case candy are included.
This is a wonderful guitar but I haven't played a six-string on stage for ages and it's far too good for me. I'd rather see it in the hands of a picker than in my closet.
$3000 shipped to CONUSA
As always I would rather drive than ship, talk to me if you can meet me in the Northeastern US of A or if you want to come visit me in Hudson River country to try it on for size.
I will endeavor to take some more photos, I seem to have lost all but one.
