I have occasion recently to play a few songs with the band that would work well with a resonator or Dobro sound.
I play 8 string C6 lap steel and have searched for electronic simulator pedals. Past Forum threads have mentioned::
Fish and Chips pedal
Superbro
Boss GE-7
I've found a few YouTube videos that use one or another of the above - but always on a pedal steel.
1) Can anyone direct me to a video using one of these pedals on a lap steel?
2) Aren't the Fish and Chips and BOSS GE-7 just graphic equalizers? Frankly, most of the video examples using a pedal steel / simulator I found don't really sound much like a reso to my ear.
3) Has anyone found a useable alternative to those mentioned for use with a lap steel?

I’ve used fish and chips as a reso simulator with lap steel. There’s a particular whacky setup you use, and it’s ok for things like dobro fills in a country song, but I wouldn’t go anywhere near anything bluegrassy with it. But I play my 8string steel in G6 (l-h EGBDEGBD) so I’m already in a more or less dobro tuning. Don’t know if that makes a difference or not.
