Happy Birthday John. One of my earliest influences on pedal steel guitar. Some of us were talking about you just today before this greeting came in. All the best.

Man, the stuff John Call does on the very FIRST Pure Prairie album is so great, trading back and forth with Craig Fuller on the tele. I still can't get enough of his playing on this album, particularly Country Song and Tears. What's John doing these days Dennis? Where is he living? Can you get him to join the Forum?

Wonder if there are any soundboard or alternate recordings of his playing from PPL's earliest days out there? First time I saw John Call playing live was in May of 1977 at Southampton College in Southampton, NY, playing with PPL on the heels of their Two Lane Highway album. He is really great on that one as well. Happy belated birthday John!
