MSA pedals
What can cause my pedals on my S-10 MSA hard to push?

Are there brass bushings on the cross-shafts on this guitar?
If so, there could be a possibility that they over time have migrated slightly inwards towards the center of the cross-shaft causing the cross-shaft to bind and not rotate as freely as it should.
Is the problem on only one particular pedal or are they all hard to push?
Without a picture of the underside of the guitar and pedal rods linkage it is difficult to give more than a qualified guess as to why pedals are hard to push.
I have one MSA S10 and those pedals are smooth as butter.
Might not be the same type of MSA tho.

If the MSA guitar is a Classic S10.
Those guitars are getting old, Some are 50 years or older. The MSA Classic steels have plastic bushings on the ends of the cross rods. Over the years the bushings shrink and get tight on the cross shafts, I had to ream some of them to get free movement in Knee Lever and Pedal cross shafts.
I just pulled the changers out of a MSA 1973 Classic. The levers in the changers had old dry lube that was causing big problems. I joke about it, I Gave The Guitar Its 50 Year Bath.
There is 2 ways to set up most guitars.
1. Short travel. Stiff pedals and knee levers.
2. Longer travel. Easier pedals and knee levers.
Any of the above could be the problem.
Good luck finding the problem and cure. Back Happy Steelin.
