Taylor 1996 614c

Post by Fred Rogan »

I bought this guitar new in 1996 and have not played it enough to justify keeping it. I play steel and electrics 99.9% of the time. It is in great condition and has no issues. Really selling it because I bought a new electric that put me over my limit.
Note that this is a 614c, no electronics. I preferred it that way (or I wouldn't have bought it) but when I have needed electronics I had one of those clip in pickups which was serviceable. The original hard shell case is included.
Price is $1700 shipped in CONUS.
thanks

Hi Fred, does this have a spruce top?

Hey Al
I think it has a spruce top but I cannot say for certain. I'm looking for Taylor documentation that says these were made with spruce tops. I can say conclusively that it has the top it came with!
thanks for checking

I found my 1996 Taylor catalog and the 614c does have a Sitka spruce top. I'll include the catalog in the sale.

I added another picture of the back bacause the original picture(still there) made it look like there was a section of the back with no tiger striping in the maple. As you can see from the new picture (third from top) the tiger striping is uniform and is very deep. Lighting and angle makes all the difference.

Included in the deal is this Lawrence pickup. I've had this a long time (40 years maybe) but it still works and sounds pretty good. No pre-amp necessary.
