So sad to hear this. Bobby was a fixture at the TSGA and VP for many years.
I always enjoyed introducing him on stage and to listen to his music.

He is truly one of the steel guitar giants.

So sad to hear this. Bobby used to tell me stories of old notorious musicians he knew when he lived in my neck of the woods.

I always enjoyed talking to him at the TSGA and hearing him play a great authentic Western swing style. He’s now playing with our mutual band leader (him in Texas and me in Georgia) Bill Adams again. RIP Bobby.

I first met Bobby about 1952 or '53 in Odessa, Texas. I was just a 13 year old kid, learning to play the steel guitar.
I think Bobby had just turned 21 and was playing in the nightclubs in and around Odessa. We reconnected a few years ago through the WSMSS showcase events. I am saddened to hear of his passing. We talked on the phone a few weeks ago and he was looking forward to meeting at the Lawton, Oklahoma WSMSS event. He was a good friend and I will miss him. Rest in peace amigo.

The most honest Steel Player I ever met. That's saying a lot.
I'll treasure our short acquaintance and all you taught me.

Go ahead and play it a different way. RIP

I pray for peace and strength for his family. Amen🙏🏻.

Bobby welcomed me into the Steel Guitar world with open arms. He shared his knowledge and always gave an honest opinion of my playing. It helped me grow as a player. I loved seeing him at the Dallas Steel Guitar shows, and the local meetings. R. I. P. until we meet again.
