Stereo Wet/Dry/Wet Pedalboard for "Ampless" PSG Rig

Post by Brian McCulloch »

So lately I have been playing more and more PSG gigs, and until now have been using two small tube amps for a simple stereo rig. But the added weight, loud stage volume, and angry live sound engineers made me start looking into an "Ampless" rig with no speakers (my gigs are always in-ear- monitored).

This new rig not only means that I can get a killer tone using the Effectrode Blackbird preamp, but now I can add that dry channel to the center and pan my stereo effects hard left and right. This setup means I can turn up the wet effects for incredible stereo width, and still retain the clarity in the center "dry" channel. I see some guys on the forum using stereo rack rigs, and some using large pedalboards. Anyone else out there running a wet/dry/wet rig? I would love to hear what pedals you are using with your pedal steels.

The Future Factory is incredible and has totally changed the way i think about delays. The core tone of it is perfect, and the huge amount of control makes it perfect for steels. It has bass, mid, treble contols for the repeats which means you can EQ out the mud and stay crystal clear.
