SD-10 Emmons

Post by Dennis Lee »

Really surprised this guitar has not been sold! It is a steal on a great steel. Love the Lashley Legrand guitars. I have two, an LLII and LLIII.

Looks like this is the real deal too me it’s not a converted Emmons.
Lots of Emmons Sd 10 steels came brand new with the C6th tuning window.
Good thing about the extra window in end plate a person could add the C6th neck.!

I purchased this twin in December of 2022. Like Steve's, it has the C6th cut-out, but was a dedicated SD-10 from its beginning. This is a LLII, so Steve's has the compensater, which is desired.

LL2s have no counterforce; LL3s have it.

I had an SD10 LL3 in Sapphire Blue new from the factory in '98 (#1886). Mine had both holes in the end plate, so it wasn't an uncommon occurrence.

Like Bob, I'd like mine back one day. It was actually for sale here on the SGF a couple of years back but I saw it too late.

END plates DOUBLE HOLE

Post by Tom Vollmer »

I was probably the last one to supply Ron Jr with End Plates
We supplied with a single hole or a double hole only difference was to cut the second hole. My guess is he did not have a single hole in stock but had double and used them.
I might add they had a lot of machine work where the cabinet
fits where as the old Push Pull plates had a minimum of maching and were mostly as cast. After owning PP ,LL,
LLll, and LL lll in 70+ years of Steeling I think the LL lll
is as fine a guitar as any IMHO.

A killer deal on an Emmons SD-10 LLIII. Why is this guitar not gone?
