Ellis Bullard-Steel Player

Post by Craig Stock »

I just happened upon this great guy and his band Ellis Bullard out of Austin, and love his voice and songs.

Does any one know who plays steel for him?, whoever he is, he's great.

Check out this song by them called 'Biloxi by Two'

I remember seeing a review of the album on Saving Country Music in the summer (because that sure is a memorable album title!). It gives some good background on the artist, and it credits two steel players, Sam Norris and Burton Lee — couldn’t find which is on this track specifically.

Thanks Ross, there are a few youtubes of them live, but I'm not sure who they are. May not be the same guys on the recording also. Great playing though and the album is really good too.

I checked out the White Horse video but didn't recognize the steel player. That said, I believe there's more than several "new" ;) steel players in the Austin area now with whom I am unfamiliar.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Thanks Mike for the ID, as Herb says there are really so many new or established players that I/we don't know about.

It sounds like alot of the younger players use other social media venues that I don't do so they are not really present here much, maybe that can change.

My nephews live in Austin/San Marcos and are hip to the scene and always give me info on the bands and players that are out there, so that helps!

Again, Thanks!
