I think that they might work. Might be real good for speed pickin' & maybe pick blocking as you could just use your finger tips to mute the strings.
I could be wrong though!!!

| I could be mistaken, but that style of fingerpick is designed to put the picking edge under your fingernail. It would then work as if you were using your fingernail to pick the string. The pictures don't show that though. |

isnt there something called the "Alaska" pick that is similiar to this one??

Alaskan picks, http://www.alaskapik.com/ , are different. They fit on top of the finger and under the nail, to act more like fingernails.
These look like a version of Pro Piks "Fingertone" model:

I have tried a set of these - I suppose someone who wants a strong flesh driven tone but has weak nails might find these useful, but I didn't care for them for steel at all. YMMV, of course.  |

They do look very interesting and could be of value to a player that likes the feel of the string at the nail area and the ability to actually touch the string with the flesh of the fingers.
I'm for trying anything new. I do not use the traditional steel guitar picks. I use my nails and also the Alaska pics. |

I've seen/tried several versions of that type of pick over the years, and they always felt "hitchy" to me - like they would sort of "catch" at certain points.
I never did find any I liked. |
