NorCal/NorNev Gig Board

Post by Paul Sutherland »

This is intended as a thread for anyone wanting to know who is playing public gigs in the greater NorCal and Northern Nevada regions. People on the other side of the country or world don't need to know this info, but they can look if they want.

I'll start it off:

Friday, 4-15 at the Wrangler Bar in Elk Grove, CA with Locked N Loaded

Saturday, 4-16 at the Pure Country Canteen in Sparks, NV also with Locked N Loaded.

Anyone is welcome to post their gigs here as long as they are open to the public and even remotely within the regions described.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

Great idea Paul!

I'll be appearing with my band "Hill Country Truckers":

Thursday, 4-28 at Goldfield's in Roseville (free show);
Saturday, 4-30 at the Coarsegold Rodeo after dance;
Saturday, 5-14 at The Tacklebox Bar in Chico, CA

If you stop by, come up and say "Howdy"!

I hadn't heard about Goldfield's opening another venue in Roseville. That's great news Dave.

I've got a few more coming up with Locked N Loaded:

Sat. 4-30 opening for Little Texas at Quarry Park Amphitheater in Rocklin.

Fri. 5-6 at the Roseville Opera House Saloon.

Sat. 5-7 in Napa for the Napa Sheriff's Mounted Posse Fundraiser.

Sat. 5-14 at Naggiar Vineyards in Grass Valley.

Sat. 5-21 at the Tackle Box in Chico.

Sat. 5-28 at the Vacaville Fiesta Days. The California Cowboys follow us.

Mon. 5-30 at Great America in Santa Clara.

It's good to be working again. Now, if everyone in the band can just stay out of the hospital and jail.

Jim: I'd look into the following:

Roseville Opera House Saloon, in Roseville.

Powerhouse Pub in Folsom.

Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln.

Quarry Park Amphitheater in Rocklin.

Harlow's in Sacramento.

Freight and Salvage in Berkeley.

Thanks, Paul! Have looked into a few and in discussions with one of them. Will definitely check out the others. Is the Opera House Saloon more of an opera house or a saloon? We need a fully seated room.
Thanks again,

The Opera House is mainly a dance club with a large dance floor, so it's probably not going to fit your needs. You can also cross off the Powerhouse Pub for the same reason.

If you want to think big, try the Harris Center for the Performing Arts in Folsom, or the Mondavi Center in Davis.

It's an old movie theater, seats a little over 200, it's tired but still a really cool place, high ceiling.

Also check out the Palms Playhouse in Winters, the Sofia in Sacramento

Ronstadt Revue in NorCal, March 2023

Post by Jim Cohen »

We'll be playing two shows in NorCal in March, 2023 (with others hopefully to be added soon - still need a show for Sat., March 25th; Halp!)

For these 2 shows, we will be joined onstage by Linda Ronstadt's own former guitarist, John Beland (also known for having been one of the legendary Flying Burrito Brothers). John will perform several songs with us and tell stories of his days touring with Linda.

Hope to meet a few of you out there!

Just booked our 3rd NorCal show (if you consider Fresno to be NorCal; or is it just Central Valley?) Anyway, hope to see some Forumites at one or another of these next March (2023)

Wouldn't it make more sense to start a Facebook page? Once you've joined, you'd get the customary alerts anytime someone posts about their gigs. Probably be more effective and seamless than a thread here, just saying.... 🤠

There is one, but some folks (which includes me) are not Facebook users.

Planning another steel jam at the Side Door for a Saturday in March 2023 :D. Let me know if any of you potential attendees have a specific preference for the date. thx!

Ok where y'all playing? My group seems to be on hiatus so time to get out and hear other groups with steel.
