1966/67 Emmons D10 Bolt-On - Pics Added 8+2

This guitar is all original as far as I can tell apart from the logo and the cross shaft mounted knee levers. It has never had levers installed on the body. Invoice guitar. I’m pretty sure the flag is a sticker. Some of it has come away and it looks clean underneath. I was able to get a little more off with my finger nail. Original Emmons sticker decal will be included.
Orignal cream colored hard case included, not the black case with yellow interior.

$6000 Local pickup 30 miles north of Los Angeles.

The badge can be replaced with the sticker logo. If that’s what you’re talking about. If I lived near LA, ide check it out.

Don’t be so sure that this guitar has been molested, I have a ‘66 bolt on invoice #2255 and it has a badge on the front apron too!

When a guitar with a decal was returned to Emmons Co. for repairs or modifications, the decal was replaced by the badge at the factory. Unless you're the original purchaser, I believe #2255 originally had a decal.

Thanks Herb, that's a great bit of Emmons trivia! How do you know about the decal/badge switch? The badge on mine has a brown background that was painted black to match the mica.
Also, do you know what years they did this?

Maybe you could write up a brief history of the Emmons guitar in terms of the mechanical and cosmetic aspects which would include the decal/badge switch. The steel guitar community thanks you in advance

I think this '66 Emmons is a great investment for someone.

I don’t think they effect the tone nearly as much as the cool factor, Johnny. Put one on yours and let me know if you hear a change.

Still see a ton of potential in this guitar. Still wish I could justify it. Still wish it didn’t have the badge.

I have a mahogany Formica invoice bolton. Do you see those pickups? No white line, right? They should be pretty much the same as those on a wraparound. Those pickups are to Emmons what a PAF pickup is to a Gibson Les Paul. They have tremendous clarity. Add to the fact that the invoice guitars usually have the same body dimensions as a wraparound and you have something special indeed. Very few of them made and, to me, they are the best sounding vintage Emmons, hands down. So, nuts to the badge...

When discussing the sound of the Emmons guitar, the location of the most important part is directly behind the rear apron.
