Clinesmith Aluminum Lap Steel. For Sale
I would like to sell my long 25" scale.

Like all of Todd's lap steels it has tone and sustain like none other.

I'd want $1,800.00 or best reasonable offer plus the ride.

The steel is in perfect condition with one very minor flaw. The 4th string tuner button stem is very slightly bent. So minor I didn't even notice that until after I'd had it a few months and changed the strings. Does not have any effect on the tuning or holding the pitch.
Right now it is tuned to E6/9 but if the buyer wants I will change the strings for another tuning.

Comes with the Blue Heron Padded case also in like new condition.
Needless to say it's the longer steel at the bottom of the photos.

Do you find the fully polished top of your long scale makes it more difficult to see the strings compared to your short scale with black on top?

Not at all. Maybe because most of the time I'm picking over the high end of the fretboard.
Thats why I made a metal pickguard for the short scale to prevent nicks in the black lacquer.

My Mullen SD-10 also has a polished aluminum neck and I like seeing the reflection of my picking hand on the neck. Easy to see the strings.

I also raised the asking price to $1,800 since I now understand that Todd has raised the prices of his to $1,950 with a waiting period.

Because of a medical condition that will progress with time I can no longer play so will be selling most of my steels in the near future.

Someone called me and wanted to know what my E6th/9th Tuning was like.
From the bottom up it is as follows:

B E G# B C# E G# F#

This allows you to get some nice PSG effects with bar slants and picking patterns.
The center 6 strings are much like Don Helms E6th so easy to play some of that stuff on a tuning like this.
It's my second favorite tuning after standard A6th for non pedal steel.

Only the two bottom strings "B & E" are flat wound and the rest are all plain wire strings.
