Jack Cox

Post by Nick Reed »

Central Florida bass guitarist and singer "Jack Cox" passed away early Thursday morning (8-11-22) following a lengthy illness. He suffered two strokes earlier in the week, and also had recently been placed on dialysis due to kidney failure. Jack worked with many of the Florida Steel Guitar players through the years. R.I.P. Jack, I enjoyed the times we got to play together.

RIP.

I don't think he played steel out, but Jack and I had discussions about pedal steel techniques and licks. He came to many of our old Florida Steel Guitar Club jams. And a couple of the Monday evening Oxford show/jams.

Jack was from New England and I think Maine.

Jack was an old friend and fellow musician from Maine that I re-connected with in Florida. We've been playing together in the same bands for the past few years.. Jack was good folks and will be missed.. Rest in Peace, my friend..
The difference between a musician and a savings bond is eventually the bond will mature and earn money.

I met Jack shortly after he came to Florida and bought a music book from him. He did play several jams I did about 4 or 5 years ago.. Rest in Peace.
