This guy is a riot to watch. I seen several of his other videos on speaker cabinet and guitar tone. Opening some real subjective questions on our gear quest. Definitely worth your time.

I've watched most of Jim's videos and find them thought (and chuckle) provoking. He also plays pedal steel. What I'd like to see is a video showing the same pedal steel guitar plugged into an amp and no changes are made to the setup. Then have 5 different players sit at the instrument and see how different they sound. Is it the gear or the hands?
Jim - if you see this, please make that video.

Great videos. Not sure that miking the amp and picking up one location in front of the speaker mimics what you hear in the room. I've played the Marshall and Vox amps and in person they don't sound anything like a Fender Twin. I like the old amps with the flabby broken down speaker surrounds. To me they have the warmest tone and that old speaker makes a huge difference in the tone.
