Carter steel tuning

Post by Paul Higgins »

Fist of all I would like to thank all those which answered my post on Carter steel
so far all is well managed to get the stainless steal rods and put a thread on them ( which was from one of your answers )
And so far everything is in tune
But I have lost the Carter book which came with it
Can anyone help on the LKU the upper leaver
I think it was for 6 string and up to F# I am not sure
but I haven't got any holes left where it can go
anain thank you for your help

Here is the owner's manual, but it doesn't provide the info you're after http://steelguitar.com/manuals/CSGOwnersManual.pdf. You can set that vertical to do whatever you want, most common is lowering string 5 B>A#, and also splitting that with the A pedal to get a C note (sometimes on string 10 also). What is the rest of your copedent?

Hi Thank you..
It looks like I gone wrong somewhere
it seems its hard to put it to text But ive got a what I call a double step on the pedal it goes part of the way down as if it has stopped and put a little more pressure and it goes down farther so it looks like I've got to start again
