OSGA....interview with the President

Post by Larry King »

This morning we feature our OSGA President Beverly Harris .
Let me go on record as saying , unequivocally , that this
lady is working so hard to make the OSGA a success and has
the support of her dedicated husband Mike who works equally
hard , especially during our Convention , helping players
with equipment change out , sound systems , and generally
everywhere a need is. We appreciate Mike's contributions.

We have had several Presidents in the OSGA...Don Compston ,
John Buffington ,Rick Crow/Marty Neer , Wayne Morton , all
great dedicated leader's and for the last few years , the
hard working Beverly Harris. She's done a great job.

Her story begins in church, where they played hand clapping
toe tapping, knee slapping gospel tunes. As a youngster, it
took root. After a 42 year teaching career , she discovered
the Pedal Steel, and with the help of Richard McDonald of
Spirit Steel in Broken Arrow ,Ok her passion was ignited,
and thus began her journey . Beverly then became determined
to absorb any and all help from players such as Herb Steiner,
Steve Palousek, and Terr Bethel. She immersed herself in the
world of steel guitar. She traveled to Muldrow Ok, Siloam
Springs Ar , Branson Mo...anywhere she could increase her
exposure and learning possibilities . At some point , at the
invitation of Karen White , she joined an "all girl" band and
once again, continued to broaden her musical horizon.

So we take this opportunity to honor Beverly and Mike . Their
principles are dictated by placing God first and standing on
the Golden Rule of treating others according to the Word .
Thank you Beverly and know that you're loved and appreciated.

Larry, Thanks for including me in that list, however Marty Neer was completely responsible for those years and did a fine job. I'm just there to try and support any of them. My idea is to help in anyway I can. I may give them my opinion, but I won't argue with any of them. Thay have all done exceptional jobs.
