This is my first post about a group I’ve been in for at least 4 years. Our New Product is a 4-tune EP done with the addition of tenor sax (Ben Shaw) and flugelhorn (Carl Gerhard) entitled The Long Weekend.
The group works as a quartet (guitar, bass, drums, steel guitar) but also with vocalists and instrumentalists. Three-quarters of our repertoire consists of originals. Of course, we try to put our own stamp on cover tunes. On our album One Mic, Two Weekends we recorded with just a ribbon microphone painstakingly placed to pick up all instruments in balance.
I am playing a 1999 Carter SD 12, 5 pedals, 5 levers through a Peavey Nashville 112. My only effect here is a Hughes & Kettner Rotosphere.
It’s an exciting and challenging ensemble to be in. I am working on my comping as well as solo playing and staying out of the way of the guitar. The guys are excellent musicians and really push me—nicely, of course—to keep up!
Check out photos, tunes, and verbiage on https://www.eveningskyband.com. We all live and play in Rhode Island.

Hi Chris Templeton! Yes of course I remember our Dallas meeting. It was a good hang.
BTW: the first link works for me . . .
No the guitar player isn't making fun of steelers. In fact he would like to get a steel himself so we are keeping our eyes open for an instrument for sale in our area.
I hope your life in VT is good and that you are healthy. Always good to read your posts, too, old pal.
