Anyone ever seen a music book of the songs of Cindy Walker ?

Post by Larry Lenhart »

Cindy Walker was a great song writer (and singer) and wrote many things for Bob Wills...I believe she was the first woman to be inducted into the country music songwriters hall of fame...Willie Nelson recorded an album of her music,,,which is great by the way, as did Leon Rausch.

Maybe its too small of a market, but I have never seen a songbook of her music. I finally sat down and wrote out "Its all your Fault" in standard music notation, but it would be fun to have a published book of her music. I dont want a book of just the words, but one with actual music.

My internet searches have turned up negative.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never seen such a song book, and I agree it's a shame. There are too many songs by her that fit into the Great American Songbook genre and her compositions should be given the same weight as those of other great American composers.

Thanks Jack for posting that link...just another example of how wide spread her songs were...if you are not that familiar with her, here is a tribute to her that is an interesting read: an amazing lady !

Great idea for one of the finest songwriters to ever come out of Texas.

"You Don't Know Me; The Songs of Cindy Walker"
On of my favourite albums.
Buddy Emmons played exquisitely across all the tracks; maybe one of his last LP sessions?

A FB friend just posted his rendition of You Don't Know Me. I think he did a great job.

One of my favorite albums as well, in any genre :D ! I'm under the impression it was Buddy E's last session.
Agree that Cindy Walker was one of the greatest American songwriters.
