here is my Homemade slide guitar I built in 2011. It was made from scrap wood in my garage.
the top and back are luan plywood. The sides are black walnut and the neck is hand carved maple.
I tune it to open D.
The only thing I found wrong was my bracing .... braced the top but not the bottom. Thus a loss of volume, so I'm told.
I placed a sound hole pick up in it for when I use it on a Friday night jam. Tone is nice and mellow.
The shape is the result of not enough black walnut to give it a true guitar shape but this works great, no guitar stand needed. It stands on end.
Needless to say it is a no plan just make it first for me.
Do not worry, there are no plans for mass production.......,
garage wood guitar
