Not nearly as cool as JayDee's playing on Ray Stevens' recording, but here's my version.

Thanks, Doug.
You are the tone monster on every guitar you play.

Nicely done Rich!

I just started PSG last year and that guitar you're playing in the video really caught my attention. I was watching to see if I could pick out what you were doing and then noticed the arrangement of your pedals... What is going on there? I've never encountered a pedal arrangement like that.

Ed,
It is a one-of-a-kind for sure, and that may not be a good thing. The short answer is that I played non-pedal for 25 years and became very comfortable with the tunings I was using (which did not include C6 or E9), and about 5 years ago decided to add some pedals. I was not ready to basically start over and learn E9 and C6, so I added pedals to the tunings I was most comfortable with, namely E6 and B11 (that is, my own odd variation of B11). The three recent videos I posted (Misty, Tenderly, and Flintstones) are all on the outside neck which is B11. I added a LKV to that neck in December and updated a three year old Forum post with photos then to illustrate it. You can read that post here for more detail.

I am beyond pleased with the capabilities that vertical lever has added to the copedant.

I also posted a couple of short videos on YouTube recently in which I try to explain what's going on with the guitar.

Hope this answers your question, but if not, ask away.

As a further explanation of how I played this song, I just added a tab for it in the Tablature section.

Thanks for the tour, I really like what you did with the dowel pins and the vertical lever.

Thanks, Ed. The dowel pins were an experiment that worked out better than expected.

Really nice. I don't play that style , and those that can play those lovely chord melodies mystify me..Beautiful classic tone from your Bigsby.
I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Thanks, Bob. I love classic E9 pedal steel, but I can't play it. I guess we do what we can do.
