Country music in Fort Myers this weekend
We'll be travelling to Fort Myers this coming weekend for 3 or 4 days. Just wondering if there are any of you FLA steelers with country bands playing in that immediate area.

Steel guitar in FLA this weekend
Martin, NOT in Ft. Myers, but "on the way" there is Brooksville, FL. The "Florida Classic" music festival will be going on at Brooksville this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb 24, 25, and 26. (Brooksville is about 160 miles north of Ft. Myers.)
I will be playing steel on a couple of sets on Friday and Saturday afternoon (with Teea Goans and Redd Volkeart). Plus Moe Bandy will be there on Saturday night, and he has steel in his band. Last time I saw Moe, he had John Clark on steel guitar.
In addition, The Malpass Brothers will be there on Friday and Saturday, and they usually have a fine steel player with them.
So, depending upon the timing of your trip, you might want to stop at Brooksville for a while. The venue is about a mile off Interstate 75.

FLA trip
John,
Thanks so much for the reply. Absolutely LOVE to see Teea and Red, and it looks like a real easy get-off from 75 to stop in. Hope to see you, probably try to get in there on Friday afternoon. Thanks, again for the info.
