Saw this on Facebook, Pt. Barun Kumar Pal, noted slide guitarist in Indian classical music, is in critical condition following a stroke. He is a master of the instrument Hansa Veena, which is one of a few adaptations of the lap steel to Hindustani music (others being chaturangui, and Mohan veena). I had exchanged emails with him years ago when I was considering learning the instrument, best wishes to him as they try to bring him to recovery...

Seems to be in khammaj thaat. Ascent, with a S R M P D feel, descent including G and n, but he flirts with komal d and eventually tivra ma and shuddh ni so beats me!

Some say the steel guitar came from this area. What a bar hand!
