Does anyone know if anything has happened to PSG Parts.com? It seems like nothing is available anymore. Has something happened to the company?

From what I’ve noticed, it’s just one guy who is actually making the parts. He’s got a lot of larger orders that usually take priority and he’ll make a batch of other parts as he has time. He’s a forum member and a great mind! I just know he’s very busy with what seems like regular large scale orders. I’ve been meaning to get some old r&b parts from him.

Mr. Yahl is still in business and is very good about accommodating inquiring customers. His parts are of the highest quality.

I would say with COVID, A lot of players are not gigging, So they are working on their guitars and needing parts. Some may be rebuilding old Sho-Buds and Emmons PP and needing parts.
Hope Mr. Yahl or his family have NOT become infected with COVID.

When he runs out of a part, And sets up his machinery and tooling he needs to make several parts, (Maybe 50 or more) before changing equipment to another piece to cut set up time. I just got off GFI's site, They list NO 6 hole Bell Cranks for pro class guitars. I was wanting 3 to add pulls to a steel I am setting up.

Grateful that someone like Michael Yahl is in the steel guitar parts fabrication business. He recently completed a run of 5mm tuning wrenches that I had been waiting on for months. Worth the wait!

Michael is a first class engineer who fabricates quality replacement parts for a number of pedal steel guitar makes. He communicates well with his customers, and produces ordered parts as quickly as he can, bearing in mind that he is a one man band in his workshop.

Michael has been very responsive in the past. I just rebuilt an MSAD-10 using his parts. Glad to hear he is well and busy.

Yes Michael is that good. Jackson Steel Guitars has been using him more and more in machining huge number of parts(as many other builders do). And ya'll read again what Bobby Jones just wrote; he certainly understands the schedule of Machines a machinist has to go thru to be as productive as possible and stay up on product;materials;parts; clients...etc...especially doing it all pretty much by your own self. Michael is well; no covid. You can always email him on projection of time he'll get to this or that product wise. He is VERY busy as said. He also is VERY passionate in what he makes; and he is far beyond any other machinist I've ever used(yes I worked with Duane Marrs; John Coop, and James Morehead was student of me and Coop....(they all passed away and Michael Yahl is the last and only one that knows how to do it all)

As a machinist and instrument repair shop, I know it’s not productive or profitable to make one part at a time, and sell parts at a reasonable price. I also know that it’s not productive or profitable to spend a lot of time on the phone telling folks parts aren’t ready yet. It’s better to spend that time making parts. I’ve bought parts from Micheal, and have always been more than happy with what I got. If you send him an email, he will answer you, maybe not instantly, but whenever he sits down to answer email today. He can usually tell you when he expects to have a certain part ready. Also, those emails asking about parts help him know the demand for certain parts, so he can make extras when needed. Email him. He’s a good guy, and I’m grateful that he does what he does, and hope he continues for a long time!

I can appreciate a master machinist. I had vocational machine shop in high school. The teacher was a retired master machinist who had worked for Dewalt and made some of the parts on the original Dewalt saw. If we were given an assignment to turn a rod down to 1 inch +/- .002, if it wasn't exactly 1 inch we would catch hell.

Steel guitar parts are very hard to make and keep in stock. Michael is the best there is, and he is a very good and honest person. I have received many great parts from him, and always on time. If a part is out of stock you may have to wait but it is the best option.

I've ordered a lot of different parts from Mr. Yahl. His parts are exactly like the original parts only better in some cases because he uses better material to machine from. Never spoke with him but when you order something from his site it will arrive promptly if it is listed as available. I don't know why anyone would look anywhere else for parts.

Hi all
I just wanted to clarify, I also rebuilt my MSA all with parts from Michael. Service, communication and quality was excellent, I have no complaints. Recently when I was looking for parts most things seemed to be out of stock, and I thought, maybe something was wrong.
I should have emailed Michael directly instead of posting my question here.
My apologies Michael, thanks for all your help.
