Need D-10 Gig Bag Ideas

Post by Bob Snelgrove »

My back and I are getting old and now to rehearse I have to haul my gear across town. Looking for "Gig bag" ideas for a D-10, preferably split. Any soft case ideas like keyboard bags or?

Thx

You may get some ideas from my old post:

I believe a D-10 would fit in this case, without the rest of the hardware.

I just bought one of the Gator G-PG-49 keyboard cases for my new GFI SD-10. 6lbs for the Gator case compared to 18lbs for the GFI case.
I haven't tried it yet, but I believe the pedal bar and leg/pedal rod bag will fit in the top section. The GFI is only 30lbs so with bag 36lbs total.

I wouldn't want to go on the road with the bag, but for local and me loading and unloading in my car its OK.

I got mine from Kraft Music, the only place I could find with any in stock. Most places they are on order. The Kraft stock is new as the inspected date tag on mine is "2021-08". Kraft shows 5 in stock. They ship FedEx. I ordered the Monday before Christmas and it was delivered on Sunday Dec 26th (from Wisconsin to Florida).

Bob, I've been using a Kaces 39 key keyboard gig bag $40, with a plywood half case inside. If you search " gig bag deconstructed " should show what I did.

Steve, the Trap case works perfectly. I got this idea from my pal Paddy Long who uses one when flying with his guitars. Just get the foam cut out and glued in to place plus I use a padded leg bag which is strapped on top of the guitar. My Zum Hybrid SD 10 comes in at under 30 lbs in this case, perfect for Airline requirements.

Bob - I believe Jack and Gary purchased the Pro Go, like I did several years ago.

The Pro Go Series is a bit more spendy.

Bob..Gig bags made for travel guitars work great for the leg/rod bag and pedal board. I use one designed for a Martin 'Backpacker'.

I linked the G PG49 bag in my original post. Its to Kraft Music, the only on-line vendor I found with any stock.

The only bag I'd put a Franklin in.

Bob, BullDog BD-35 tactical shotgun case, under $20, available from Calebas or "Cheaper Than Dirt". Nice because it's rectangular so it doesn't look like a gun case!
