New Years Eve gigs??
How many here have New Years Eve gigs to report?
Keith Hilton told me he had one, he stays pretty busy playing.
Happy New Year to all.

Quite apart from the purely incidental fact that nobody offered me one, I'm not sure that I'd be up to the task of hauling everything out to the car and all of the physical effort that's entailed in such a venture.
'Double scale' is right! I remember those days when it was the night to 'make a killing'. It's all relative, of course, and none of those 'lucrative' NYE gigs ever changed my life. As for 2021-2022, I was asleep by 10.15 pm and, just as I'd expected, 2022 had still arrived without me being there to welcome it.
A Happy New Year, though, to everyone in our enjoyable community with special thanks to b0b for all his hard work.

I did a gig last night in Florida. All outside, and with just a dobro - so a minimum of hauling stuff. It was 8-11pm. I got home before year’s end.

Played a Christmas gig, then got shut down 2 days before our New Years Eve gig.
Omicron has taken over and things are going back into lockdown mode. Looks like a dry gig for 2022.

I had to beg off two back-to-back local gigs last night with my rockabilly/country band. I got a sinus/lung infecton in mid-November and then a different sinus/lung infection at Xmas. With omicron cases going off the charts around here and bypassing prior immunity, I decided my lungs couldn't handle one more insult right now.
Hopefully this omicron thing turns out not to be as virulent as prior variants. I think I'm just taking January off to give my system a break and see what actually happens.

We played Mercer Dancehall to a 400 people soldout venue at 30 bux a head...so yes; we stuck SERIOUS mula in our pockets and was a great New Year celebration.
