E9/B6 weight with case

Post by Rhino »

Hi ...
I am thinking about having an E9/B6 built.
Would like to know if weight will be under 50 pounds in case.
Could Universal owners chime in with their guitar weights.

I haven't flown with a steel yet so any help or guidelines would be appreciated.

Thanks...
Rob...

I play and gig a GFI Ultra S12 7 pedals 4 knee levers E9/B6.
The guitar with a small pad weighs 32lb. The case weighs 17lb. for a total of 49 lb.

Hope this helps helps in your hunt.

My Mullen RP U-12 weighs 59 pounds in the case-- on my home scale.Helped out substantially when I started using a keyboard gig bag to carry the pedal rack and leg bag.

Bobby's GFI sounds pretty portable, but I'd still lobby for split cases. 40 pounds in one hand is easier than 50. ;-)

Williams S12U wide body is listed at 30# plus the case.

Excel is less than that.

Either, in a proper case, should net under 50#.

My Excel U12 B6/E9 keyless is under 40lbs in the case which is 31" long. I doubt if that can be beat. The equivalent Williams is an equally light guitar but the case is bulkier.

The Williams wide body universal 7 X 5 S12 regular wheeled case is 12lb plus 30lb for the guitar for a total of 42 lbs. Probably my next steel.
