I recently discovered a You Tube channel for Connor Smith in Glasgow UK who plays jazz inflected pedal steel on E9.
He plays really well and plays Atkins style guitar as well...
Anyone have any info on this fellow?

Dave,
I've had the pleasure of witnessing Conor's musical development since we crossed paths, a good few years ago, in the Glasgow studio where I was working. He'd only been playing (6 string) a short time and was already a very tasty picker. We got chatting about our mutual appreciation of Chet and Danny Gatton, and since then I've watched his chops and depth of musical knowledge absolutely soar.
Check out the Scottish band, Rose Room, to hear his forays into Gypsy Jazz.
Pedal Steel is a fairly new instrument for him and I honestly think he will be world class, before too long. He's even come up with his own E9 copedent to let him play those extended jazzy chords.
Glad you came across him and flagged him up, he's definitely one to watch.
