Sold - Mullen PRP D-10 8x5

Post by Tyler Frey »

SOLD Local off the forum please close

I am open to driving a reasonable distance and would prefer over shipping.

My Mullen is in great condition and has recently been fully serviced by lone star steel guitars down here in Austin. It has a standard Emmons set up but the Es lower on the RKL (these guitars are really easy to work on and can be switched back quickly). Ill let the pictures do the talking.

Send me a DM for more questions and we can jump on the phone!

I've played this guitar several times. It's solid and ready to go on stage. Sounds and plays just like a Mullen PRP ought to.

....AND it has what appears to be Mullen single coil pickups. Love those single coils! Good luck on a nice looking guitar!

How did you get splits on a prp?

Ken,

I recently had my PRP Mullen completely gone over by the crew at Mullen and they were able to add the split screws on both necks. They did a fantastic job and they work great.

Apologies for my intrusion here on the for sale ad but since the question was asked:

The guitar in this post has M.A., Mickey Adams' initials written in Sharpie there with a date. I suspect he serviced this guitar, had Mullen work the splits but did the disassembly/assembly/tweak and service because I know that he did so on many Mullen guitars.

I might be interested in an outright buy dependent on terms if you should so decide to sell.

The fact that it has the split screws, even if screws are back a bit and not used at this time, is an awesome feature and ads a lot of value. Nice guitar. RP

Jerry,
Mickey Adams has overhauled my ‘95 PRP twice in it’s lifetime and he is THE MAN. I discussed adding splits with him a couple years ago and he said it entailed him removing the PRP changers and sending them to Mullen to have them tapped for splits then re-installing them and setting everything underneath back up again. I decided not to as the way he had mine set up now it’s mechanical action and tone are absolutely perfect.
Del Mullen built pre RP’s are absolutely primo! And if Mickey worked on this steel it’s a winner for sure.
Pre RP Mullen D10 8/7, Zum 3/4, Carter S-10 3/4, previous Cougar SD-10 3/4 & GFI S-10 3/4, Fender Steel King, 2 Peavey Session 500's, Peavey Nashville 400, Boss DD-3, Profex-II, Hilton Digital Sustain, '88 Les Paul Custom,Epiphone MBIBG J-45, Fender Strat & Tele's, Takamine acoustics, Marshall amps, Boss effects, Ibanez Tube Screamer, and it all started with an old cranky worn out Kay acoustic you could slide a Mack truck between the strings and fretboard on!!

Yeah, I'm hip to Mickey's work and the Mullen taps. I'd love to pick this one up...I'm quite sure it's a great guitar, but I'm economically challenged at this time. 🤤

It would make for a wonderful Christmas present if anyone is listening out there! 😉
