Rickenbacker Bakelite B10 10 string lap steel - SOLD
Here's something you don't see everyday. I'm sure the experts can give us more info on this oldie, so please chime in if you have more information! My guess is late 30s early 40s.
I sent the pickup off to Jason Lollar who re-magnetized and repotted it and added a couple (totally removable) anti vibration posts in the giant horseshoe pickup to cut down on microphonics. He also replaced a pickup thumbscrew which was a mismatched nut when I bought it.
This thing sounds amazing and has endless tuning options. Comes with original case in decent shape. Functional, but worn. Currently set up in an Eb13 tuning, but like I said, anything is possible with this many strings.
SOLD, thanks!

I used to have one of those guitars. I got it at Scotty's.
I liked the sound. Not as "wet" like a prewar Bakelite.
Maybe more highs because of the metal.
My song "Mosquito hop" was played on it.
Someone had done a poor paint job with day-go paints on it.
You can listen to it here:

Buddy had one of these parked in his can.

Those are AMAZING guitars.
While they do not sound like a pre-WWII B6 or B7, they are amazing sounding guitars.
The bodies on those are war-time second gen. The neck wrinkle paint (extremely hard) cast aluminum. All had 1 1/2" horseshoe pickups and they are very powerful.
I took one of mine to see Maurice Anderson in 2000, and he was at that time playing the Bowen S12 non-pedal. After one day, he looked over and than at mine, and "why do you sound better than me?". I said "it's not me, it's my guitar!"... we switched and Maurice could not believe the change (I didn't sound better any more ... well, until he handed me my Ricky back! ).
