Multi effect units are OK for some. I've used a POD X3 for years, but 99% of the time only delay and reverb. So, the NUX Atlantic fits the bill perfectly for a delay/reverb unit.

I use a TC Electronics Hall of Fame reverb and the Flashback delay with my Revelation preamp. I really like the options and they are really quiet. I also use them on all my guitar rigs.

Just another option apparently, smaller footprint vs larger footprint. Shocked

Maybe you're thinking of some of Boss's larger units like the SY-300 or the SY-1000? They are large!

The RV-500 is the same height and only slightly wider than the NUX and certainly takes up no more space on the pedal board than separate reverb/delay boxes (unless they're both mini-pedals).

Not in production anymore, but look around for a used Behringer DR400 Rev/Delay combo pedal. It has a really nice sound, I think and there are 3 or 4 settings for using both effects together.

I have an old coveted 80s Electra EP250 analog unit that I really like for guitar, but the DR400 actually sounds better with the pedal steel.

I too put a vote in for the ZOOM 50 and ZOOM 70, both of which I own. Portable, lots of choices and good quality. I use the reverb, reverb/delay, reverb/chorus, reverb/phases. And reverb/envelope follower.

At times I've tried other units and I always go back to them. Here's sample live.

Thanks all for sharing your experience.

I've received a new NUX Atlantic Reverb/Delay pedal. Been fooling with it for an hour or so and I'm liking what I'm hearing.

Much better than what I had been using. I'm going to continue to tweak. Encouraging so far...

Nice Mike, congrats , enjoy.

For me the # 1 feature of the NUX pedal is that it actually is 2 in 1. Two peds side by side in a single 4" wide pedal . The simplicity of operation is key. No display, no function wheel etc. 3 knobs for the delay and 2 for the reverb. Two on/off buttons, not ONE for both. One for each Very easy to navigate and edit while performing, if necessary. Turn the knobs !

Oh yeah , a couple of switches to select which style reverb/delay you prefer.

Its OLD school, like me , and its simple just like me ! Laughing

I'm pretty basic, here is how I set mine up, and yes it took a few minutes to seek my preferences. Its a very flexible unit, don't bring it to a gig "cold"

In fact never bring any stomp effects pedal to a gig "cold"

RVB switch- Spring RVB- level approx 11:00 - decay approx 11:00

Delay Switch- 80's Delay -level approx 11:00 - time approx 11:00 (which is right about 300 ms)- Repeat either at zero ( single slap) or mild repeats @ 10:00

MONO out
+10 DB switch position
Parallel switch position

Every now and then I'll add a 2nd Delay Pedal to the chain and set it to +/- 150 MS for the Rockabilly style delay

Thanks Tony...playing around with this stuff is half the fun.

Had a gig last night and used the NUX. It was significantly more pleasing to my ear than the Fender reverb with a separate delay pedal.

However, venue was a big room with 'socially distanced' audience...'hollow' sound for every instrument except drums and bass - fiddler was at wit's end.

I'll have to keep tweaking until I find the settings for different spaces. Sounds great in my music room.

My settings are very close to Tony's except I use serial (Delay first and Reverb second).
I've used it between the Volume Pedal and amp and also in the Effects loop on my Quilter TB202 amp and can't hear a difference.

It's sometimes good, if you have a lot of devices and haven't memorized settings well enough under the pressure of setting up during the gig, to mark your preferred settings with very thin strips of white self adhesive paper. Or maybe someone sells some dots on adhesive paper?

LOL..You mean like this ?

This is very common for many touring pro's and groups . Its especially effective for us older players ! Laughing

Laughing too.. Yupp, exactly.

So far I've only done that with one pedal but I think I'll upgrade the whole guitar pedal board with that for safety. All but one of the pedal/devices on my guitar-synth board are programmed via MIDI which is controlled by a master unit so they don't need that fine treatment Smile

P.S. I have the Wampler Dual Fusion pedal that contains the Paisley distortion unit. But I rarely use it since high gain tube distortion often feels just a little bit more organic. But it's one of the nicest distortion pedals I've tried I have to say.

If you're like me and sing the main vocals at the same time as playing a complex guitar part your brain might not have the extra bandwidth to think about exactly how all your devices are set.

Tony... funny you noted your 'tape marker' settings.
I do much the same thing using a silver Sharpie with a dot to mark the settings.

I thought I was the only one who lost track of them.

I mark my amp settings the same way. It DOES help avoid dumb sound errors...particularly if you haul gear in a slip on cover. Knobs move.

the biggest problem with "FLOOR PEDALS" is...uhh..well... they are on the floor ! Laughing

Looking down at the minuscule print for the knobs is hard enough when we were young with 20/20 , but geeze, I need the LARGE PRINT option !

I always thought that floor stomp pedals were kool but then again I also thought, how do you change the settings without bending down ?

I guess this is where pre-programmed multi units come into play. But they are limited to what the offer. I've had them, used them, now I don't .

I currently use in my guitar rig, a Tuner, Dual Wampler Paisley Pedal and the Dual RVB/Delay. I am adding a Tremelo momentarily.

The Dual Wampler Drive Pedal is now mandatory. It allows for OFF (Clean) CH1 On, some drive and then add CH2 for more drive or BOOST. For me this ped was a game changer .

I don't believe there are any multi effects peds that offer DUAL DRIVE , especially in comparison to the Wampler.

So be it ! Very Happy The floor is my friend ! Laughing
