Schild 2x10 9 Pedals/ 7 Kneelevers 2021

Post by Andy Zahnd »

After a long waiting of 1,5 years I finally got my new "Something Special"! A dream to play, soft as butter, cabinetdrop almost zero, stays in tune, light weight and sounds like to die for! It's not cheap... but it is worth every penny I have paid! A real happy camper here! :-)

I seriously considered one when I was shopping for a uni, but they didn't do any 12-stringers. Beautiful thing.

Case = 20.95 pounds
Steel 2x10/9/7= 41.9 pounds

that's pretty light!

It appears that the changer is intonated like a regular guitar. Does that mean that it is best tuned straight up?

No, the changer is not "intonated" in any way. It has a regular (single) changer axle, and a single axle roller-nut.

Having been born and raised in Switzerland with an Engineers degree from St-Imier... a loooong time just before I left, I can just say, that it indeed looks very, but VERY "Swiss".

Kind'a like a Swiss "Excel".

I hope we get to HEAR her some day?

Thanks for showing! ... J-D.

I love the "Swiss cheese" pedals, drilled out to lighten the weight, I presume!

Stunning Schild

Ditto every comment here Andy. It’s “Other Worldly”. I notice the ‘soft shoe’ pedal rod connection, onto a flat belcrank’s beveled oval = keeps that pivot point silent. Unique app. Very 😎

I'm glad someone resurrected this thread so I could look at this gorgeous guitar again! Perhaps the sharpest, most elegantly built guitar I've seen in my life.
