Something to play CDs on at home?

Okay, I know how lame this sounds but, without immersing myself in the world of new digital/download/streaming, etc., I want to know if it's still possible to buy a reasonable home-CD player that employs its own amp.

What about those Bose units that were popular a while ago? It looks as though I'll be staying close-to-home from now on because of health concerns. I want to be able to listen, and to play along with, my huge library of music CDs, but would like decent sound-quality.

go to your local goodwill store. i bought one today for $8.99. just a player, but they had some stand alone players with an amp and speakers.

I'm pretty sure that most single disc DVD players will also play music CDs. Although they may not play CDRs with mp3s. I recently bought a couple of Sony players. 33.00 each.

I downloaded MusicBee, a free media player.

Then I ripped my CDs to my computer.  I have 1,567 tracks at easy access.  

I also loaded all the tracks to a Lexar 32GB Jump Drive and can play them in my pickup truck.
