Strings for a 14 string Sierra

Post by Edward Toro »

Can anyone tell me where I can get strings for my 14-string Sierra steel guitar.
Also, any interesting tunings I should know about?

Thanks!

Sierra's set up was pretty basic U12 with a 12 on the 1st string and a big ole 80 on the 14th.

You can buy 12 Uni sets from b0b's string store top of the page and add an extra 1st string. Dunno if he carries single 80s. I probably still have some 79 and 80s from back when I played U14.

Dont know of any place you can buy complete 14 strings.

Edward, did you just buy that Sierra that was on SF Bay Area Craigslist for the last month or two?

Edward, when I owned my Sierra S14 guitar, I bought the .080 strings from Sierra. At that time GHS also had .080 electric guitar (not bass) strings. I don't know if they still sell that gauge. However I found this:

Keep on pickin'!
