Hello Everyone
I am restoring a fender stringmaster triple 8. The question is should I include the blend control or leave it off. What is the reason for this control. It's a'57' model.
Thanks for any on this question.

The blend control and associated tone circuit is essential to the stringmaster sound, and is largely the purpose for the two pickups in the first place. It allows the two pickups to be mixed together at various levels for a huge palette of tones. You could only use either pickup, or both full on at the same time without the blend control.

I had a double neck Stringmaster for years and played it in bands. I always played it with both pickups on all the way.
My understanding is that the back pickup is always on, and you blend in the neck pickup with the control. You should definitely include it. That's what the Stringmaster is all about.
