FWIW, after some time with both models: the Discovery is a tighter more precise unit-newer mullen mechanics are generally a dream to play and work with. I much prefer the sounds an Encore makes, and took one on the road for about a year problem free. For two sub-50lb 3x4 E9 single necks, the other notable difference is price.
