It’s so unsettling to hear the news of Mrs. Franklin’s passing.
What a difficult time this must have been - and continues to be - for the Franklin Family.
You are in our hearts and prayers as you celebrate the life of your mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt ... and the legacy she leaves you all.

I only had a few, brief conversations with Mrs. Franklin, at the NTSGA Super Jams I've attended. She was gentle and genteel, and very nice to be around. I send my deepest condolences to Paul, Paul Jr., Theresa, and the entire Franklin family.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Hi everyone, Paul Franklin here. I am sitting with my father, Paul Franklin Sr. After reading everyones messages. Dad, my siblings, and I want to say we deeply appreciated every word. She was as kind and loving as your words describe her. Mom and Dad cherished the years they spent making friends with each one of you at Scotty's steel shows. Not having his life partner by his side has left an emptiness in his soul. We are really missing her...Hearing what an impact and how well she was loved in the community is very comforting.
Much Love,
Paul Sr. and family

My condolences to the Franklin family.
Though I've never had the pleasure of meeting any of them, we have all benefited from what they have given to this steel guitar community.

Deepest sympathies to the Franklin family. I have been welcomed into their humble home many times seated at the kitchen table listening to Paul Sr. telling stories and Oleda confirming or correcting them. Their friendship was greatly appreciated and their love for one another was a treasure to witness. She’s gone to Glory! R.I.P.
I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.
I received my education, drivin through the Nation listenin to Paul!.. ( Franklin that is! )

tomato

Post by Bruce Heffner »

My memory of Mrs. Franklin was the year Paul was inducted to the HOF, as my late wife Lily and I were boarding the main elevator headed for the revolving restaurant, Mrs. Franklin and Paul's sister were exiting. Mrs. Franklin had some of the best looking home garden fresh tomatoes in her hands. My remark was "hello my do those tomatoes look really good". She responded by handing us 2 of them which were soon eaten in our salads that night. She was so kind to provide random strangers with a treat. If only more people were like her. God Bless her!

Paul and family,

Like 'ol Tiny, I'm just now hearing the sad news of your Mothers passing.
Oleda and your Dad as well have been like family to those of us here who are transplanted.
Always positive and encouraging, and understanding of the nature of Nashville.
One of my favorite memories of your Mom was some years back at the Franklin Family Reunion in Lawrenceburg, Tn. Brian and I were there playing(one of his first road jobs)and she was so proud of him.
I will miss her, her cheer and spirit of generosity.

My thoughts and prayers to you, your Dad and the whole family.
