What a great show..!! That was Ron Elliot for sure. A D-10 green lacquer Emmons Original. If I remember correctly, Ron had another lacquer Emmons D-10 around that time that was even "green-er" than that one and had wooden necks. I could be wrong. Jack, Jeanie and The Jolly Giants sounded great.

I have an album by Jack and Jeanie called "Two For The Show" and the cover photo was taken on that very set from The Wilburn Brothers Show... same set, same attire. That album has some great playing by Weldon.

Also in that show was an awesome instrumental by Curly and Jimmy Capps of "Anytime." I love that stuff..!!

What a great show. Jimmy and Curly were on fire. Jack and Jeanne at their peak and Ron Elliott played fantastic. Great country music at it's finest.

I love all these shows! To see Sonny Garrish with Whispering Bill or John Hughey with Conway not to mention all the great Hal Rugg or Curley Chalker moments in the house band.. OMG!! Talk about unabashed inventive playing! Inspirational to say the least!
I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.
I received my education, drivin through the Nation listenin to Paul!.. ( Franklin that is! )

With the topic of the Wilburn's tv show I was wondering if anyone knew why the the band changed hands? Buddy and Hal on fiddle and steel on many shows. Jimmy and Curly on other shows. Was this a change in the making or did they switch off, I don't have a timeline of the band's members, but sure would like to know.
