I just came across this great article in The New Yorker about Todd Clinesmith and his path to rebuilding after fire destroyed his shop:

Thank you so much for sharing Eric. This is a wonderful feature on Todd and well-deserved. He is a brilliant world-class artist indeed. And I love the heartfelt testimonials from local tri-state steel players like Mike Neer and Johnny Lam who I love and are equally inspiring to me. This is such a great read.

Thanks for posting, really good article. When i see pictures of his work, they're always amazingly beautiful instruments. The Speedy West steel that was obtained from Buck Owens' estate was the subject of a FB journal article, which you'll have to buy the hard copy to read:

Just read the article in the New Yorker, it mentions The Barn Door Slammers! I had to check them out, and when I did I bought their album. Well I was familiar with Todd Clinesmith’s beautiful instruments, but man I had no idea what an amazing player he is. Every musician on this album is great, but Todd Clinesmith is my new favorite steel player
Thanks, Steve.
